About the church
About New Birth Kingdom Church International
“A growing Spirit-filled church in this area. Our ministries have been created to help minister to the lives of people.”
The name on the wall
Four words, read the way a neighbour might read them.
The church has not published a statement of beliefs, so none is made up here. What follows is a plain explanation of the words themselves, the way these words are generally used in Spirit-filled churches. Spirit-filled churches usually put a lot of weight on prayer, on scripture and on the belief that God is present and active today. To hear how this congregation puts it, listen to the messages or ask in person.
New Birth
A phrase many churches take from the Bible's talk of being born again. It points to a fresh start in faith more than to a date on a calendar.
Kingdom
Usually a way of saying that God's rule matters in everyday life, at home and at work as well as on Sunday. It is also where the letters K and C in KCI come from.
Church
Here it means the people as much as the building: neighbours who gather, pray and listen to teaching together.
International
It sits on the sign wall in spaced white capitals. The church is listed as non-denominational, and it is also known as Kingdom Church International, or KCI.
The building
A long red-brick building behind a lawn, an oak and tall pines.
You'll find it at 302 N Robinson Circle in Carbondale: a white gable, a covered porch and a brick sign wall. A sign points to additional parking at the Beadle St. entrance.
